Thanks for this writeup! I really appreciate your links and references to begin to build a practice. I read The Chicken Qabalah recently and its focus was much wider, and I kinda left it with a feeling of 'where the hell do I go now' and started digging into astrology instead. Sepher Sapphires is super cool. I feel like you're further along on a very similar path to mine, beautiful to see, really glad you promo'd this on the AYA disco!

❤️❤️❤️ Thank you so much for your comment!! Glad you enjoyed the post. I definitely come from a occult/Thelemic background but felt in a way that it was kind of limiting on it's own, that's what brought me to astrology! I really enjoy mixing them to hopefully create something new.

Synthesis and integration is such an exciting process! I felt like not giving some really genuine attention to astrology would really limit my potential for growth in the general category of Western esotericism, and judging from how much I've gotten from the astrological basics so far, I think I was right. I note that astrology (seems) to have the most historically verifiable claim to lineage from the ancient world (which occultism puts on the grand show about but doesn't really care a fig for actual verifiability, preferring to emphasize the mythological transmission, as I'm understanding it). It also seems to me that the historical figures of the Western occult tradition (from the extremely limited reading I've done so far) incorporated astrology into their work almost as a given - it seems like a well-trodden path! That gives me some confidence about it, anyway.
