I’m watching a 7 part series of lectures on the philosopher Nietzsche by Professor Raymond Guess. Nietzsche had a huge impact on modern occult movements, especially the work of Aleister Crowley. The speaker is very animated and brings a lot of passion to the subject.
2. A Maya Ritual Resurrection Scene in Broader Perspective
A fascinating look at a Maya ritual burial circa 600–650 CE in Guatemala. The figurines have an expressiveness that is both endearing and personal. Interestingly, the deceased has a deer as his guide through the underworld and ultimate resurrection.
3. Necromancy Manual in the Cambridge Library - Erotic Binding Magic, Divination & Spirit Summoning
Another entry this week from the amazing YouTube channel, Esoterica. Follow along as Dr. Justin Sledge takes a look through a necromantic manual from Tudor England circa 1536-9. This handwritten book of magic contains all sorts of interesting workings, including erotic binding spells.
4. The Tower-Historical and Cultural Perspectives
The Tower card of the tarot is usually not one you want to pull, depending on the circumstance. The fantastic teacher of cartomancy and sundry, Camelia Elias, is offering the text of her workshop lecture on the Tower card that might give you another perspective on this oft-maligned card.
5. Cosmic Latte
